Privacy Policy

What We Collect

The Pie Lab stores the following data to power your experience:

• Profile information — display name, location, preferred oven, favorite style, measurement system, and humidity setting.
• Journal entries — bake logs including style, date, ratings, notes, and photos.
• Dough calculations — your most recent recipe configuration.
• Schedule data — active dough schedule steps and timing.
• App preferences — theme, unit system, and notification settings.

Where Your Data Lives

All of your data is stored locally on your device using your browser's localStorage and IndexedDB. It is never uploaded to our servers. We do not operate a backend database, and we have no ability to access, read, or recover your data remotely.

Photos attached to journal entries are compressed and stored in IndexedDB on your device. They are never uploaded anywhere.

A device identifier is generated locally to prevent trial abuse. This identifier never leaves your device and is not transmitted to any server.

Third-Party Services

The Pie Lab uses a small number of external services:

• Apple App Store / Google Play Store — processes Pro upgrade payments on mobile. All payment information is handled entirely by Apple or Google. The Pie Lab never sees, receives, or stores your credit card number or banking details.
• RevenueCat — manages purchase verification and entitlement delivery. RevenueCat receives only an anonymous user ID and purchase receipt to validate your Pro status. No personal information is shared. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
• Open-Meteo API — used to look up elevation data when you set your city in My Kitchen. Only the city name is sent; no personal information is transmitted.
• Google Fonts — loads the Playfair Display and Inter typefaces. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Google Forms — used for optional feedback submissions and bake photo feature requests. Data sent may include your feedback message, feedback type, optional email address, display name, city, unit preference, theme, screen size, and device type. See Google's Privacy Policy.

What We Don't Do

• We do not use analytics or tracking scripts.
• We do not use advertising networks or retargeting pixels.
• We do not sell, share, or transmit your data to any third party.
• We do not use cookies for tracking. The only storage mechanism is localStorage for your app data.

GDPR & CCPA

Because all data stays on your device and is never transmitted to us, you have complete control over your information at all times. You can export a full copy of your data or permanently delete everything from the My Kitchen page in the app. No request to us is necessary — you are in full control.

Data Deletion

You can permanently erase all Pie Lab data from your device at any time using the Delete All My Data button on the My Kitchen page. This action is immediate and irreversible.

Children's Privacy

The Pie Lab does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Since all data is stored locally and never transmitted, no personal information is received by us from any user.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
